Tax Assistant

Stenographer Grade-II 

  • To apply for the Stenographer Grade-II post, candidates must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution. 
  • Applicants must also qualify in the prescribed stenography skill test, which includes a dictation speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes, followed by transcription on a computer within 50 minutes for English or 65 minutes for Hindi.


Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) 

  • Candidates applying for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) post must have passed the Matriculation (10th Class) examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. 

Sports Eligibility 

Since this recruitment is being conducted under the Sports Quota, applicants must possess outstanding achievements in recognized sporting events. Candidates should have represented the Country, State, University, or School in approved national or international competitions or secured medals in recognized tournaments. 

Eligible candidates may include those who have:

  • Represented India in recognized international sports competitions.
  • Represented a State or Union Territory in Senior or Junior National Championships recognized by the concerned National Sports Federation.
  • Won medals in Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games.
  • Represented a university in Inter-University tournaments organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Represented a State School Team in National School Games organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).


Note: Only achievements in the sports disciplines notified by the department will be considered. Candidates must submit the prescribed sports certificates issued by the competent authority in support of their achievements.

  • Tax Assistant: 18 to 27 years

Age Relaxation

  • Meritorious Sportspersons: Up to 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit. 
  • SC/ST Meritorious Sportspersons: Up to 10 years relaxation in the upper age limit. 
  • Age relaxation will be applicable as per the Government of India rules and subject to submission of valid supporting documents. 

Odisha Region Income Tax Department Recruitment 2026 Salary Details 

Candidates selected under the Income Tax Department Odisha Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 will be appointed under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and will receive an attractive salary along with various allowances and benefits as per Central Government rules.   • Tax Assistant: Pay Level-4 of the Pay Matrix (₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month)
